Bauchi State is bordered by seven states, Kano and Jigawa to the north, Taraba and Plateau to the south, Gombe and Yobe to the east and Kaduna to the west.

The Bauchi State Police Command says it has ”neutralised” 12 bandits and kidnappers, including their kingpin Madaki Mansur.

Mansur has been notorious for terrorizing Alkaleri Local Government Area and other neighbouring states of Taraba, Plateau and Gombe, according to the police.

This was disclosed by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, in a statement made available to Channels Television.

Wakil said the joint operation of security operatives at about 0230hrs on 19^thDecember 2022 engaged suspected bandits/kidnappers in four different hideouts; Mansur, Digare, Gwana and Dajin Madam in Alkaleri forest.

The police spokesman said the superior fire-power by the operatives left twelve (12) of the kidnappers neutralized while others were subdued, dislodged, and scampered in disarray into the nearby bushes with possible gunshot wounds and abandoned their Camp.

Wakil said weapons and operational motorcycles were recovered during the operation.

He also said the Command is intensifying efforts to apprehend the fleeing members of the syndicate

IN A DARING JOINT OPERATION, THE COMMAND NEUTRALIZED 12 BANDITS/KIDNAPPERS INCLUDING THEIR KINGPIN ‘MADAKI MANSUR” WHO HAS BEEN TERRORIZING ALKALERI L.G.A BAUCHI, AND OTHER NEIGHBORING STATES OF TARABA, PLATEAU, AND GOMBE.

In our combined efforts to stem the menace of banditry in Bauchi State, especially in Alkaleri L.G.A., the command was at its best recently;

On the 19^thDecember 2022 at about 0230hrs a Joint Operation of security operatives engaged suspected bandits/kidnappers in four different hideouts; Mansur, Digare, Gwana and Dajin Madam in Alkaleri forest. Following the hot exchange of superior fire-power by the operatives which left twelve (12) of the kidnappers neutralized while others were subdued, dislodged, and scampered in disarray into the nearby bushes with possible gunshot wounds and abandoned their Camp.

Consequently, weapons and operational motorcycles were recovered during the operation.

Meanwhile, the Command is intensifying efforts to apprehend the fleeing members of the syndicate.
