The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has condemned what it described as a reckless action by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, over “the intimidation and humiliation of the good people of Umuekwune Community in Ngor Okpala LGA”.

It decried Ihedioha’s alleged use of his powers and connections to intimidate the people of Umuekwune in Ngor Okpala over their ancestral land.

IPOB in a statement on Thursday by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, accused the former lawmaker of plotting to give the land in question as a gift to terrorist Fulani herdsmen for political compensation.

The statement partly reads: “It is an affront for Emeka Ihedioha dragging the entire Umuekwune community to court over a landed property after converting an NDDC supposed project for the Umuekwune community to his personal farm in same community that he can manipulate justice in his favor.

“We are aware that the plans of Emeka Ihedioha are to dubiously get the ancestral community land and later give it to his Fulani masters for RUGA in exchange for political support for Imo State governorship position.

“Hon Ihedioha thinks that he has finally learned how Nigeria dirty politics is played. This only vindicates IPOB in our Leader's statements that he (Emeka) did not even put up a fight when the mandate that Imo State people gave him was taken away from him by the Fulani Government of Nigeria and given to Governor Hope Uzodinma.

“IPOB won’t allow him to do such in Biafraland.

“Emeka Ihedioha, you claim that Ngor Okpala LGA is your maternal home (Ikwunne). It’s not traditional but an abomination for someone to drag his maternal home people to court. Unfortunately, the quest for power has made some politicians and you, in particular, cultural fugitives in Igboland.”

It expressed sadness that for mere political relevance, Ihedioha is mortgaging the future of his maternal people by creating Fulani terrorist RUGA settlement for selfish political interest.

IPOB further said: “Emeka Ihedioha, you have only one option; that is to withdraw the case from the court and go and settle the matter traditionally with your mother’s people before the good people of Ngor Okpala declares you an abominable grandchild.

“Go and settle with your ‘Nna ochie’ people to avoid the ancestor’s visitation which will be regrettable for you.

“In your twelve (12) solid years of representing the People of Ngor Okpala at the national assembly, the only visible investment you have there is buying off their ancestral lands which you are now set to give out to your Fulani Masters but as a people known for courage, resisting and speaking against injustice, they have said no to you bringing the murderous Fulani terrorists in the name of RUGA into their quiet community.

“Stop humiliating the communities because you have power. Leave the ancestral community land to the owners. If you don’t, it will destroy you politically and any political party that identifies with you in the coming elections should be ready to accept whatever comes their way before, during and after the elections.”

While noting that IPOB is a watch dog monitoring all parts of Biafraland, IPOB insisted that it would not support the intimidation of anybody or people by political leaders who are supposed to protect the people, but instead choose to sell them for their personal political benefits.

“Emeka Ihedioha, you won’t be another Hope Uzodinma who has been intimidating Imo people by any means available to him. Emeka Ihedioha and Hope Uzodinma are in competition to mortgage Imo people to the terrorist Fulani Caliphate in the name of RUGA or any other name they may call it for political compensation. We hereby warn politicians to leave our people out of their political ambitions or continue to face stiff resistance, especially from IPOB.

“Emeka Ihedioha, the land in question does not belong to you according to our

findings. Therefore, you must leave the land to the owners in the community or regret involving yourself in such oppression of your own mother’s people. IPOB is ready to expose you, Hope Uzodinma, Rochas Okorocha, Ifeanyi Ararume, and other political criminals in Imo State for your criminalities in the state,” the statement added.
