Sixteen wedding guests, including four children, at Gwombe community in Gwargwada Chiefdom of Kuje Area Council of the FCT have been abducted by suspected gunmen
The victims, who were mostly women, were abducted on their way from a wedding in Abaji Area Council on Saturday evening, a resident, Shuaibu Dantani, discloses
He said the gunmen stopped the vehicle conveying the victims and whisked them away, and that, “A man riding a motorcycle on his way to Rubochi who nearly ran into the kidnappers returned to the village and raised the alarm.”
Dantani said family members of the victims were yet to establish contact with the kidnappers.
The Agabe of Gwargwada, Alhaji Hussain Agabi Mam, who confirmed the incident to Daily Trust, also said they were yet to establish communication with the kidnappers.
The spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, DSP Adeh Josephine, was yet to confirm the incident to our reporter at the time of filing this report.
