Two police officers were yesterday feared killed in a checkpoint attack by suspected members of a separatist group in Ebonyi State.
Details of the incident were sketchy at press time but sources said it happened between Ezza North and Ishielu local government areas of the state.
Some other policemen reportedly sustained injuries.
A police patrol van was said to have been burnt by the attackers. Police spokesperson Chris Anyanwu said he was yet to be briefed on the reported incident.
But he also said the Command sent a team of personnel to the area to ascertain what happened. (The Nation, excluding headline)
