The people of Egbuoma community in Oguta council area of Imo state under the aegis Egbuoma Concerned Citizens have raised the alarm over the activities of members of an illegal security outfit which have been terrorising people of the community.

They also alleged that the members of this illegal security outfit have turned themselves into unknown gunmen who the community accused of being behind the kidnapping of some indigenes of the community including Hon.Johnson Okafor, former Imo state Commissioner for Culture and Tourism and one Ichie Ezeocha Romanus Okorie Obi last year.

The community also alleged that on August 15, members of this illegal security outfit had kidnapped Mr Amadiebube Okorie Agubuomumu, Nkwutesinanwa Okorie Agubuomumu and Mr Okechukwu Okorie Agubuomumu and taken to an unknown place.

A petition to the Imo State Commissioner of Police by Egbuoma Concerned Citizens which was signed by Comrade David Chukwuemeka, partly reads, ”We the Egbuoma Concerned Citizens in Oguta Council of Imo state humbly write to inform you against illegal security outfit set – up by Eugene Ogbuehi, Macben Nwaka, Nicholas Ohanyiri, Linus Odimegwu, Uche Ukwu, Moses Mbapuo, Ifeanyi Ojimba in Egbuoma and they have been terrorising the community and its neighbouring communities in Uli in Anambra state. We earlier wrote to the Imo state governor his Excellency Hope Uzodinma through Secretary to the state government, Chief Cosmos Iwu to take action over this illegal security outfit in the Egbuoma community set up sometime last year.”

The petition further read: “These bad boys who have turned themselves into unknown gunmen men have kidnapped some of our brothers from Egbuoma which include Johnson Okafor former Imo state commissioner of Culture and tourism last year, Ichie Ezeocha Romanus Okorie Obi and others. Again, on August 15, 2022, at about 4:30 Pm Messers Amadiebube Okorie Agubuomumu, Nkwutesinanwa Okorie Agubuomumu and Okechukwu Okorie Agubuomumu were kidnapped and took to an unknown place by these criminals. The Ezeigwe and Ndi Ichie are working with them led by Prince Eugene Ogbuehi and the above-mentioned persons have the Egbuoma community as headquarters of terrorist groups called unknown gunmen.
