The new Comptroller, Nigeria Immigration Service, Kaduna State Command, Sani Kila, has promised to strengthen collaboration with other security agencies to check illegal migrations.

Kila made the promise while addressing men of the Immigration Service on his assumption of office in Kaduna.

He noted that “most security threats and attacks were carried out by non-Nigerians,” adding that “it is not going to be business as usual.

“As the new Comptroller of Immigration, Kaduna State Command, I am going to consolidate on the efforts of my predecessors and work in synergy with other security agencies.”

After inspecting the quarter guard, he further emphasized the need for sustainable control of persons entering or leaving the state, which he said was the responsibility of the service.

“Immigration service already has an established ECOWAS section saddled with the responsibility of issuing residence permits to foreigners, as empowered by Section 2 of the Immigration Act, 2015.

“As part of our efforts to secure the boarders, our men are attached to Operation Yaki. The essence of the collaboration is to checkmate the illegal movements of non-Nigerians into the state,” Kila stated.
