Evidence for Action (E4A) also known as E4A-MamaYe, has commenced the process of supporting Kaduna Maternal Accountability Mechanism (KADMAM) to review its strategic documents to comply with global best practice towards achieving a Kaduna State free from maternal and child mortality.
Speaking during a two days meeting, Wednesday in Kaduna, the Kaduna State E4A Advisor Elkana Aliyu said their objective is to support the mechanism to become a resilient organization that will be able champion improved Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, Adolescent Health and Nutrition (RMNCAH+N) in the state.
He also disclosed E4A resolve to ensure that mechanism is able to consider social norms and gender stereotypes that impedes positive health outcomes for RMNCAH+N, conducts gender responsive advocacy for improved maternal, newborn and child health outcomes.
“E4A-MAMAYE, is concerned about KADMAM's sustainability and for that to be achieved, there is the need for the review of the vision, mission and other relevant documents.
“We will support KADMAM to be able to independently mobilize resources (public and private) to action their strategies, demand- driven technical support and become accountable, transparent and effective while advocating and holding government accountable,” he stated.
The Advisor expressed E4A support for KADMAM to be able to work independently and efficiently, action their strategies and plans as well as provide support KADMAM with organizational, financial and technical structure that will enable them (KADMAM) access public and donor funds.
“We will also support them to connect to learning and support (Peer-to-Peer Learning) and also be able to develop learning products, Global Public Goods (GPGs) and shares through local and global forums,” he stated.
Co-chair of KADMAM Alhaji Mustapha Jumare, in his remarks said the two days meeting is also aimed at providing guidance to the mechanism to review its Vision, Mission, goals, objectives, Values statements, and organisational structure.
He expressed hope that at the end of the exercise the mechanism should be able to stand on its resolve to fulfill all commitments to the citizens of the state.
“The support from E4A also include providing guidance to review and adapt Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of the host CSOs including administrative, financial and other relevant policies and guidance to draft content for the letter of agreement,” the Co-chair added.
