Polygamy is not supposed to be a curse. In the biblical scriptures of the Old testament, the father of faith, Abraham indulged in it even if he didn't harbour both women in his house at once. Still the Almighty and living God never rejected him with such act.

As at the time life happened to Abraham in the Old Testament of the Bible, he realized it was not right to have two women at a time and he separated from that life of sinful act which was disgusting in the sight of God and he made the correction by the settlement of the concubine that was given him to go far away from him.

In a recent interview, Chairman of DAAR Communications, Raymond Dokpesi, said he regrets polygamy and that is the only thing he regrets in his entire life time. This is a discussion no one wants to have, especially peoples indulging or indulged in it because they are probably scared of castigation or segregation by the average African society and this has driven a lot of polygamists to their untimely death because at the end, it feels like they did it unintentionally and never thought of the possible negative aftermath of their irrational actionand they basically die untimely, although a few survive the shenanigans attached to polygamy.

The conceptual mindset being projected in a polygamist's heart is that he is not a fornicator and he doesn't want to commit fornication by keeping a concubine outside of his marriage. Then he goes legal by marrying a supposed concubine outside of his house and this is commonly practiced by ancient and modern traditionalists and in Islam as a religion. Most muslim clerics I have been opportune to meet usually say their religion does not forbid marrying uncountable wives as long as you perform all traditional marriage rites and duly observed your manly duties. Polygamy is commonly practiced in the Islamic religion, although there are a few polygamists in the Christendom, according to the statistics of our time, compared to other religion.

This is not a case of comparative advantage but to assert just a common opinion as to why the polygamy is mostly not favorable today in modern African settings.
