The Nigerian Army has been known since the inception of when it was introduced into the nation. Organised warfare began around 3000 BCE and, by about 2250BCE, the Sargon of Agade – the first great conqueror of the Sumerian cities of Mesopotamia – is generally believed to have formed the first standing (permanent) army of some 100,000 soldiers.
With it, the Assyrians went on to form an enormous empire – the first military power in history – for that period encompassing most of Mesopotamia. The army had a well-developed chain of command and specialised units such as cavalry and bowmen. As with most empires, its multi-national nature and overstretched resources proved too much for it to control, and a series of uprisings caused its collapse in around 612BCE. The army is known for force on criminality and extensively on normal people. That is why it is abnormal to wear the army camouflage but not forbidden. The force is known to stand and work upon standardized and existing protocol – not until a gullible and vulnerable young Nigerian Army lady was proposed to and she accepted the proposal while at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Camp in Kwara State. The proposal was by a youth corps member.
Love knows no bound because of the excitement of the said single lady that was just snatched by the young man in his full NYSC regalia she never humped but jumped at her suitor and the scene was recorded for social media purposes which landed the said Nigerian Army personnel into the deep blue sea trouble because of the violation in the code of conduct army protocol that has been put in place over the years.
The Nigerian Army should understand that this can never happen in the Western countries like the United States of America and Britain. It is an unfortunate situation to still be chasing clout as at this time of the century when there are better things energy can be channeled into for the development of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
Even if the said personnel is asked if she wants to be sacked I’m damn sure she would prefer being sacked rather than keeping her job because once again love is stupendously blind and she would want to follow her heart and in this world of today you can only find a few good men around to get hitched to.
The punishment served by the lady is unjustifiable but justifiably speaking which, according to the code of conduct of the Nigerian Army, was strongly breached.
It is good news to learn on Christmas Day that the female soldier has been released on the orders of Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Faruk Yahaya.
The Nigerian should help us fight terrorism to the core and let this young lady enjoy her new vibe life.
