Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Igbariam in Anambra State, Prof Greg C Nwakoby, has announced the reopening of the institution for first year students.

According to the announcement, the students are expected to return to the campus on August 13 following strictly the COVID-19 protocols.

It stated: “The Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Prof Greg C Nwakoby on behalf of the Council and University management, by this announcement informs all the first year students of the university that they should return to campus (all campuses) of the University on Thursday, 13/08/2020 and that their 2019/2020 First Semester Examination will start on Thursday, 20/08/2020.

“The returning Year One students must observe all Covid-19 Pandemic laws especially the wearing of face mask, social/physical distancing, use of sanitiser, as well as ensure the use of the COVID-19 materials provided by the university.

“You are to be in the University from 20th August, 2020 to 3rd Sept, 2020 after which you will vacate the University and start with online lectures for the second semester. Note that your coming back to campus us for First Semester Examination only.”

The university also announced that the minimum score for 2020 Post-UTME was 160 and 180 as erroneously published in some dailies.

The university has been shut for five months after its closure in March in the wake of Coronavirus pandemic.
