Properties estimated into hundreds of millions of naira, including about 20 houses, household utensils, furniture, electrical equipments, cars, among others, were last Monday, allegedly destroyed by Umuezegbute of Isu community at Ezele Mbana community, both in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The destruction was in a bid to execute an Idemili High court order sitting in Ogidi, as the former (Umuezegbute) got a judgment in its favour against the later.

The Umuezegbute people were said to have sued Ezele Mbana, for stopping payment of royalty to them (Umuezegbute) which they had been paying from time immemorial as tenants to Umuezegbute, which infuriated and prompted the former to head to the court.

On several occasions when the case came up for hearing, the respondents (Ezele Mbana) would be absent and all efforts by the President General of Oba community, Chief Clifford Maduwa Enendu, pleading to Ezele Mbana to be pres-ent proved abortive as they see the case as mere waste of time.

They were said to have even accused the President General, who incidentally was also from Ezele Mbana, (their brother) of bias and taking bribe of N100,000 from Umuezegbute people.(Daily Independent)
