Pretty Okafor berates Tony Okoroji over High Court judgement •Declares him broke and hungry

Tony Okoroji and Pretty Okafor

The President of the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Pretty Okafor, has reacted to the judgement delivered on Thursday in the defamation case between him and Tony Okoroji by Hon. Justice A.A. Oyebanji of the High Court of Lagos State, Ikeja.

The judgement which went in favour of Okoroji, ordered Okafor to pay the sum of N2 million to the former as general damages.

The judgement also restrained Okafor from further defamation of the character of Okoroji.

But reacting to the judgement, the PMAN leader said he was not served any notice and so didn’t appear in court.

Speaking to News Express, Okafor bluntly referred to the Chairman of the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) as a “brokerman” who ran to the High Court Judge to pass judgement in his favour without putting him (Okafor) on notice.

“The money he stole has finished; that is why he cried to the judge to give judgment on a matter that the accused was not served and did not even appear.

“He should come and let me write him the cheque (of N2m).

“Tony Okoroji is hungry now because he does not have musicians’ money to steal anymore,” Okafor retorted.

Continuing he said: “Tony Okoroji is so broke now and went to beg the judge to give judgment on a case that Pretty Okafor was not served and which Pretty Okafor did not even appear. Anyway, he should come and take the cheque before hungry will kill him since he cannot steal any more money from musicians since COSON has been proscribed totally.”
