The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has opened its recruitment exercise for qualified Nigerians, inviting applications for positions across four cadres, including detective officers and professionals in specialised fields.
The Commission announced the recruitment in a notice published on its official website on October 24, 2026, directing interested applicants to submit their applications through its designated recruitment portal. The portal states that applications will close on November 1, 2026.
The available positions are Detective Superintendent, Detective Inspector, Detective Assistant, and Professionals/Skilled Workers, with age limits and academic requirements varying across the categories.
For the Detective Superintendent cadre, applicants seeking appointment as Assistant Superintendent of EFCC II, Grade Level 08, must possess a bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma from a recognised institution, alongside a valid National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge or exemption certificate.
Applicants for this category must be between 18 and 30 years old.
The Detective Inspector category, which covers Inspector of EFCC II, Grade Level 06, is open to candidates with a National Diploma (ND) or National Certificate in Education (NCE) from a recognised institution. Applicants must be between 18 and 27 years old.
For Detective Assistant II, Grade Level 04, candidates are required to have at least five credit passes in WAEC, NECO, GCE or NABTEB, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings. The age limit for this category is 18 to 25 years.
The fourth category is for professionals and skilled workers aged between 18 and 40 years.
It covers specialised fields such as medicine, pharmacy, law, nursing, medical laboratory science, engineering and technology-related disciplines.
Other areas listed include human resources management, financial analysis, media and publicity, policy analysis, legal services, research, monitoring and evaluation, librarianship, information and communications technology, driving, administrative and clerical services, as well as estate surveying and valuation.
Applicants in the professional category are expected to possess relevant qualifications from recognised institutions and an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate. Membership of a relevant professional association is an added advantage.
The general requirements state that applicants must be Nigerian citizens, possess basic computer skills, declare all academic and professional qualifications, and be medically fit, with evidence of fitness from a government-approved hospital.
The Commission also requires candidates to have no criminal record and prohibits tattoos on any part of the body.
For the cadet categories, applicants must be single. Male candidates are required to have a minimum height of 1.67 metres, while female candidates must be at least 1.64 metres tall.
A valid National Driver's Licence is an added advantage for professionals and skilled workers, who must also demonstrate good character and integrity.
The application process is online. Applicants are required to register on the recruitment portal, verify their email addresses, complete the application form and upload the necessary documents.
The portal requires applicants to provide their National Identification Number (NIN), with their names and dates of birth matching the details on their NIN records. It also warns that multiple applications or the submission of false information will lead to automatic disqualification.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to present printed copies of their application forms during the screening exercise.
The EFCC said the recruitment process is free of charge and warned applicants against paying individuals or organisations claiming to offer assistance or influence the recruitment process.
Interested Nigerians are advised to consult the official recruitment portal for the application process, required documents and further instructions.
Applications can be submitted through https://recruitment.efcc.gov.ng before the November 1, 2026 deadline.
