Anambra Health Commissioner, Dr Vincent Okpala
By PAMELA EBOH, Awka
Anambra State Health officials are on the prowl to fish out persons that had contact with the three new COVID-19 cases recorded by the state on Saturday.
Speaking in a telephone interview, the Commissioner of Health, Dr Vincent Okpala, said: “All I can tell you is that we have three new cases. We know the three individuals; they are being taken care of. Any other thing will be confidential patient information and we don’t want to do that.
“The individuals are known, contacts are being traced and we are following the prescribed guide line.”
The three new cases came barely two days after the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed a second case in the state.
The State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, had in April imposed a 28-day lockdown in the state following the record of an index case, a Lagos returnee.
With the three new cases, the state now has four cases of COVID-19 while the index case which was shrouded in controversy have been treated and discharged.
