Friends abandon Harrysong on his birthday

Monday, March 30 was the birthday of Harrison Tare Okiri, better known by his stage name Harrysong.

The Delta State-born singer, songwriter and instrumentalist had hired various caterers to supply different types of foods and assorted drinks for a lavish birthday bash in his Lagos living apartment.

Everything was set for the super birthday bash of the Afropop crooner who rose to fame after his tribute song to Nelson Mandela won the “Most Downloaded Callertune Award” at The Headies 2013.

The Warri Boy waited all day without a single guest showing up. All the foods and expensive drinks were lined up on the table, but nobody to eat and drink.

As night fell and the versatile singer who relocated to Lagos after spending a good part of his adult life in Port Harcourt realised that nobody was going to show up, he called one of his ‘boys’ to sing for him and ‘just make some noise’.

That was how Harrysong learnt the hard way that the fear of coronavirus is what matters right now.
