
FHQ receiving their winning trophy on Friday in Awka

The Force Headquarters (FHQ) on Friday swept the medals in the swimming competition of the on-going 12th Police Games at Ekwueme Square in Awka, the Anambra State capital.
The 37 swimming events which took place from morning till the evening saw FHQ dominate the competition and winning15 gold, 15 silver and 4 bronze medals.
Zone 2 came second with 25 medals: 8 gold, 6 silver and 12 bronze
Others are Zone 6 with 8 medals (3 gold, l3 silver and 2 bronze); Zone 5 with 12 medals (2 gold, 9 silver and 1 bronze); Zone11 with 16 medals (2 gold, 5 silver and 9 bronze); and Zone 9 with 3 medals (1 silver and 2 bronze).
A total of 89 medals were won at the swimming competition despite its delay by one day following the fears that the swimming pool might not be ready on time.
