A tanker ladden with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) fell into a ditch along Zik Avenue Awka, Anambra State, this Saturday morning, November 9, 2019.
News Express reports that a fuel tanker fell in a similar manner earlier this week at Abba junction along the Enugu-Onitsha expressway but recorded no casualty.
The fall of the tanker this morning caused pandemonium as people scampered for safety while some others were scooping the fuel.
A statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Haruna Mohammed, called on residents to stay away from the area to prevent any form of disaster.
Meanwhile, Police patrol teams have cordoned off the area and prevented people from further scooping while Fire Service Department has been contacted to be on standby in order to prevent fire incident.
