The Delta State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today rejected the National Assembly Primary Election Committee and Electoral Appeal Panel members posted to the state for senatorial and governorship primary elections.
Chairman of the committee, Pere Egbe Ganfo, and his members, including Edith Uso (Secretary) and Hon. Benard Ochepe as member, have been rejected.
Also, the chapter rejected the Electoral Panel headed by Senator J.K. Branbafa, with Liman Kwande and Barrister Raymond Nnah as members.
They were described as “trouble makers”.
The chapter is angry that the results of the House of Assembly primaries submitted in Abuja were in conflict with what the state forwarded.
Also, the chapter was angry that the Panel Chairman claimed, after shortchanging the party, to have been robbed of the authentic result sheets by gunmen.
Briefing journalists today at the party secretariat in Asaba, the Delta PDP Chairman, Chief Edwin Uzor, wondered why the Panel Chairman escaped from Asaba in a chartered flight.
Uzor said since the officials from Abuja falsified the results of the House of Assembly primaries when they got to Abuja, the new electoral officers for the National Assembly primary “are set to cause crisis again”.
According to Uzor, “Worse still is that the same Pere Egbe Ganfo, who is set to cause crisis in the state, has been made chairman of Saturday’s National Assembly Primary Election Committee along with Edith Uso as Secretary who came as aide to Hon. Bernard Ochepe
“We reject the Electoral Committee in its entirety and urge the national leadership of our great party to send a neutral team. The same applies to the Electoral Appeal Panel with Senator J.K. Branbafa as chairman and Liman Kwande, Barr. Raymond Nnah, as members.”
