Boko Haram insurgents have launched another daring attack on Yobe State, this time targeting the City Centre in Damaturu, the state.
A 6pm news bulletin by Radio Continental, Lagos, said the attack is being repelled by Nigerian troops.
Boko Haram had attacked Damaturu on Monday, even targetting the Government House, but were successfully repelled by Nigerian troops, who inflicted heavy casualties on them.
A report published this morning by News Express indicated that some of the insurgents melted into the civilian population and that mop-up operation by the military was on-going in Damaturu.
Following Monday’s attack, the Yobe State Government had yesterday morning issued a statement imposing 24 hours curfew in the state capital but relaxed it later in the day.
