By PAMELA EBOH, Awka
As political activities gain momentum for the 2027 presidential election in Nigeria, the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has summoned a joint meeting of stakeholders of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
According to an announcement dated October 22, 2026 and signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor and Coordinator of the Secretariat of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) in Anambra State, Dr Ben Nwankwo, the event will take place at the International Convention Centre, Awka.
The announcement said the meeting slated for Sunday, November 1, 2026 would kick off at 1pm prompt.
It warned that all participants must be seated before the scheduled time, adding that the doors would be closed once proceedings began.
Accreditation is scheduled to begin at 10 am at the venue, while attendance will be restricted to duly accredited invitees.
While noting that the meeting is open to serving and former political officeholders and party officials who remain members of either APGA or APC, as well as other designated political stakeholders, it added: "Those invited include, serving and former governors and deputy governors of Anambra State; members of the national, zonal and state working committees of both parties; and serving and former members of the National Assembly and the Anambra State House of Assembly.
"All APGA and APC candidates for the 2027 general elections who are members of either party have also been invited.
"Serving and former political appointees in the state and federal governments, members of the PBAT/APC Presidential Campaign Council from Anambra State, and serving and former elected local government chairmen, mayors and transition committee chairmen who remain members of either party.
"Serving and former members of the boards of trustees of APGA and APC from Anambra State, coordinators of Tinubu support groups in the state, and serving local government chairmen, secretaries, women leaders and youth leaders of both parties.
"Elected councillors, ward chairmen of APGA and APC, as well as members of the state working committees of the Accord Party and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), are also listed among those expected to attend."
The announcement further stated that selected stakeholders nominated by the state chairmen of APGA and APC, alongside others nominated by the state coordinator of the PCC, would participate in the meeting.
According to the announcement, the extensive list of invitees is intended to ensure that no eligible stakeholder could claim not to have been invited.
It noted that all individuals who fall within the specified categories are deemed to have been invited to the meeting.
The joint meeting is coming amid political realignments and growing consultations among political parties and their supporters ahead of the 2027 general elections.
