The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has elected a new President in the person of Amaju Pinnick from Delta State. He succeeds outgoing NFF President, Aminu Maigari.
Pinnick emerged victorious during a hotly contested election held earlier today at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Warri, Delta State.
Pinnick, who was until his election Delta FA Chairman, defeated a strong team of candidates that include Amanze Uchegbulam from Imo State, Taiwo Ogunjobi (Osun), Shehu Dikko (Kaduna) and Dominic Iorfa of Benue State. Others are incumbent immediate past vice president, Mike Umeh (Anambra) and Abba Yola (Kano State).
Conducted by NFF Electoral Committee headed by Barrister Ebomhe, the election was supervised by representatives of the world football governing body (FIFA) and the Confederation of African Football (CAF), led by Ghana’s Football Federation (GFA) President, Kwesi Nyantaki.
