President Buhari
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration has not been able to deliver on its three cardinal campaign promises in 2015, saying that President Muhammadu Buhari should vacate office for him.
The former vice president listed the promises as “security, economy and fight against corruption”.
Atiku spoke at a town hall meeting tagged, “The Candidates”, organised by the MacArthur Foundation in collaboration with NTA and DARIA media on Wednesday in Abuja.
He said the Buhari administration has performed below expectations, adding that he had the business experience which he acquired over time to ensure the development of the country.
Atiku described himself as the bridge between the future and the present, stressing that he has all it would take to get the country working again.
On the allegation that he paid less tax, Atiku said what he paid was his personal income tax, while his companies also paid their taxes to government.
The Wazirin Adamawa admitted that there may have been mistakes in the privatisation exercise which he supervised as vice president “but the programme was a success.”
