Breaking: Ezekwesili, #BringBackOurGirls activists stopped from accessing Aso Presidential Villa

One-time Minister of Education, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, and the #BringBackOurGirls coalition have been prevented from accessing the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.

Through to their threat, the activists dressed in red attire gathered at the Unity Fountain, from where they set out for the Presidential Villa after being addressed by their leaders.

However, their wish to see President Goodluck Jonathan and directly hear from him on efforts being made to the rescue of the over 200 students of Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, abducted by Boko Haram terrorists on April 14, became dashed when they were stopped in front of Eagle Square by a long line of security operatives.

“They have been told that they cannot proceed to the Presidential Villa and advised to go back,” a News Express reporter in Abuja said.

Both the Presidency and the Police were informed in advance but have refused to approve the march but Ezekwesili vowed that there was no going back.

“We urge Mr President to borrow a leaf from the conduct of d leaders of d Nat Assembly and meet with us,” Ezekwesili had tweeted this morning.

She also tweeted: “In preparations yesterday 4 TODAY's MARCH to d Villa, our AbujaFamily members of #BringBackOurGirls are LOOKING to MEET with our C-in-C.”
