Army moves in as groups burn churches, mosques in Kachia Kaduna

Military personnel have been deployed to the Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State following strong fears of imminent religious war.

A breaking news from the area by a correspondent of LEADERSHIP newspaper said tension flared up when Christian and Muslim groups started to burn churches and mosques.

It is not yet clear what led to the crisis but News Express reports that Southern Kaduna, where Kachia Local Government Area is located, has a long history of intermittent violent clashes.
