A woman believed to be on her way to the popular Ladipo area of Mushin, Lagos, has just been crushed as she attempted to cross the road.
The incident happened in front of PZ Nigeria’s branch office, close to the head office of The Guardian newspapers, along Oshodi – Mile 2 Expressway.
“The woman was attempting to cross the road at Toyota Bus-Stop to Ladipo side when a trailer heading towards Mile 2 side crushed her and sped away,” Michael K. Ubani, who works with a PZ subsidiary, told News Express.
“(Lagos State Governor Babatunde) Fashola, a pedestrian bridge is urgently needed across Toyota bus stop along Apapa/Oshodi Expressway to avoid scenes like this, as they happen almost on a daily basis,” Ubani added.
The victim, who had her skull crushed by the trailer, is believed to be aged between 50 and 60 years. She wore flat shoes and what appears to be a brown-coloured gown.
Sympathisers and curious onlookers have gathered at the site of the accident and the woman’s corpse is still lying on the road.
