Delta Govt. promises more empowerment for youths and women

Delta State Deputy Governor, Prof. Amos Utuama (SAN), has reiterated the determination of the Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan-led administration to diversify the economy of the state through its ‘Delta Beyond Oil’ policy, assuring that more empowerment is on the way for youths and women in the state.

Prof. Utuama stated this yesterday in his remarks at St. Williams Catholic Church Orerokpe, Okpe Local Government Area, during a thanksgiving service held in honour of Sir and Lady Tom Amioku on their appointment as NDDC Board member and Chairman of I.C.E Board respectively.

The deputy governor asserted that the Uduaghan administration will make use of all available opportunity within its reach to improve and diversify the economy. He noted that the administration has done a lot in education, entertainment and health sector, assuring that more in the area of coming for youth and women empowerment.

While noting that the transformation of the state is sure and called on all Deltans to contribute their quota toward the development of the state, Prof. Utuama described Sir Amioku as a consistent man whose antecedents has shown total commitment to God and humanity, and to PDP party both at the state and National level.

Rev. Fr. Mario Ozele in his sermon said thanksgiving is one way of showing appreciation to God and admonished Christians to always thanks to God in all situations. He added that the love of God has no end and only those who seek his love will have peace of mind.

Rev. Fr. Ozele used the occasion that was well attended by politicians, top government functionaries and other men of God, which include the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Peter Onwusanya, to challenge political office holders and public servants to use their position to serve God and humanity and attract meaningful development to their communities instead using such positions for their self interest.
