Amaechi to be arrested after his tenure –Wike spills the beans

Rivers State governor, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, will be arrested upon the expiration of his tenure next year next year, the Supervisory Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike, has disclosed.

Addressing journalists yesterday at the state secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Port Harcourt during the official presentation of 25 buses to the 23 local government areas and the state chapter of the party to ease their logistic challenges Wike declared: “They (pro-Amaechi lawmakers) can sit in Government House and approve whatever amount of money they like for Governor Amaechi to spend. But let me tell you that Governor Amaechi and his friends will account for all the monies they are appropriating and spending now.”

Continuing, Wike, leader of the opposition against Amaechi, said: “Once the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announces the victory of President Jonathan, we will immediately shut down the Port Harcourt International Airport and all land and sea boarders in Rivers State to prevent Governor Amaechi from escaping. Does he think we don’t know that he is planning to run away? But he and his cohorts will not succeed.”

“All they can do thereafter is to lock themselves inside Government House and at the appropriate time we will go there and pick them up, one after the other. Believe me, Governor Amaechi will surely account for all our monies that he his frittering away now. We will not allow the looters of our treasury to run away from justice.”

Both Wike and PDP’s Deputy National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, vowed that PDP would next year reclaim Rivers from Amaechi, who on November 26 last year decamped to the opposition Al Progressives Congress (APC) with his supporters.
