The Imo State Police Command has arrested two students of Alvan Ikoku College of Education, Owerri, in connection with the killing of US-based entertainment promoter, Prince Noel Tochukwu Unuegbu.

Unegbu, who hailed from Akwu, Akokwa in Ideato North Local Government Area of the state, was putting finishing touches to his reality show, ‘Imo Got Talent’, when he was assassinated on February 4, 2014 in a popular hotel at Amakohia in Owerri.

His suspected killers, Eze Charles Nnamdi, a native of Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, and Augustine Madubuchi, a native of Ekwulobia, Anambra State, were among arrested criminal suspects paraded yesterday in Owerri by the state police command. Nnamdi (22) is a 400 level student while Madubuchi (20) is a 300 level student of Alvan.

Parading the suspects at the command headquarters, the new Imo Commissioner of Police, Abdulmajid Ali, promised “fire-for fire” for criminals in the state. He advised members of the public to report any suspected movement or persons to the nearest police station as conspirators and collaborators would be treated as culpable.

“I will fight to eradicate kidnapping, armed robbery and other vices in the state by positioning my Rapid Response Squad throughout the nooks and crannies of the state,” the new CP vowed.
