The feats recorded by the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs under the leadership of the Minister, Alhaji Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, have been commended by the Kaduna State Government.

The commendation came through the State Commissioner for Inter-Governmental Affairs, Barrister Abdu, while on a courtesy visit to the Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs in Abuja on Monday. Barrister Husaini Abdu, who described Alhaji Turaki as being worthy of emulation, said he came to pay homage to the minister and to tap from his wealth of experience in a bid to use such knowledge to improve on the activities of the Ministry of Inter-Governmental Affairs in Kaduna State.

He said the Federal Ministry had in the past one year achieved a lot as being attested to by the media, which informed his decision to visit the minister for possible ways of linking Kaduna State to donor agencies locally and internationally, so as to bring more development to the state.

Responding, the minister commended Barrister Abdu and his entourage for the visit. He stressed the need for the commissioner to interface with the three arms of government in the state in order to bring meaningful developments to the people.

“For us at the federal level, we have been interfacing with the three tiers of government and also the three arms of government, in order to ensure people get value for governance in the country,” the minister said.

He stated further that the ministry, following the directive of President Goodluck Jonathan to monitor the implementation of constituency projects in the country, has made sure that about 85% of such projects had so far been implemented in the 2013 appropriation and that by the end of the first quarter of 2014, there will be 100% implementation of constituency projects in Nigeria.

Alhaji Turaki disclosed that since his assumption of office, the ministry has embarked on a number of seminars and conferences and has also participated in about two international conferences which were geared towards bringing the essence of Transformation Agenda of Government to every nook and cranny of Nigeria.
