Gen Osuji takes over as GOC 1 Div. of Nigerian Army, Kaduna

Former Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Infantry (NASI), Jaji, and immediate past Chief of Administration at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja, Major General Kenneth C. Osuji, has taken over the command of 1 Division, Nigerian Army, from Major General Garba A. Wahab.

The outgoing General Officer Commanding (GOC), General Wahab, is now the Chief of Administration at the headquarters of the Nigerian Army in Abuja.

Handing over 1 Division to General Osuji today, the outgoing GOC said he was leaving behind seasoned officers and soldiers, as well as civilian staff, adding that his men have done well for the past two years of his administration in the division.

General Wahab explained that when he came into office, it was the incoming GOC, General Osuji, that assisted him in the training of his officers and men when he was the Commandant of NASI in Jaji.

He assured the new GOC that he has competent officers and men on the ground to work with, and therefore charged them to extend the same loyalty and cooperation to new leadership of the division.

General Wahab commended the media for fair reportage of the division’s activities and urged them to continue in that direction.

He decorated the new GOC with the insignia of 1 Division and handed over all the division's document to him before taking his final salute from the division.
