Gov Soludo
By PAMELA EBOH, Awka
The government of Anambra State under the leadership of Prof Chukwuma has called on all Nongovernmental organizations, (NGO) Foundations and other groups involved in youth reformation to register with the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Reformation.
This was contained in a press release by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Reformation, Dr Nelson Omenugha on Tuesday.
He called on groups to comply with the directive, saying that the initiative is aimed at establishing a comprehensive and verifiable database of individuals and organizations working within the youth reformation and rehabilitation ecosystem in Anambra State.
Omenugha said, “This move will enable the government to properly identify existing interventions, understand the scope of their activities, document their areas of specialization and strengthen coordination, collaboration and strategic partnerships towards achieving sustainable outcomes for young people.
“The Office recognizes that youth reformation is a collective responsibility that requires the active participation of government, the private sector, development partners, civil society, religious institutions, community leaders and other stakeholders.”
“Accordingly, this registration exercise intends to provide a structured platform for identifying credible stakeholders, avoiding duplication of efforts, facilitating partnerships, connecting interventions to relevant government programmes and ensuring that collective efforts contribute meaningfully to the state’s broader youth reformation agenda.”
“Organizations and individuals working in areas including, but not limited to: Youth rehabilitation and reintegration, Character development and values reorientation, Mentorship and leadership development, Skills acquisition and vocational training, Entrepreneurship and economic empowerment, Education, literacy and personal development, Community-based youth engagement, Behavioural transformation and social reformation – are encouraged to participate in the exercise.”
“Interested organizations and individuals are to visit or contact the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Reformation, Flat 9, Light House, Awka, Anambra State, for registration.”
“Registration should include relevant organizational or personal details, areas of intervention, operational locations, contact information and evidence of previous or ongoing activities, where applicable.”
“While noting that the exercise is not intended to restrict the legitimate activities of stakeholders, but to build a more coordinated, accountable and effective ecosystem for youth reformation in Anambra State, he gave Monday, November 30 as the deadline.”
He stressed that the state remains committed to building a new generation of responsible, productive, innovative and value-driven young people under the leadership of Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo.
According to him, Youth reformation is a shared responsibility.
“Together, we can build the New Onye Anambra”, he added.
