President Tinubu
The Tinubu Support Group (TSG), led by Sir Paul Chukwuma, has announced plans to hold rallies across the 95 local government areas in the Southeast to mobilise grassroots support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
The local government tours are expected to begin in Anambra State’s 21 local government areas, in collaboration with the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC).
Chukwuma, a former National Auditor of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is a member of the PCC and Deputy Director-General of the TSG in the Southeast.
Speaking with The Nation at the weekend after the group’s rally in Awka, Anambra State, Chukwuma said the TSG would work closely with the PCC to secure Tinubu’s re-election.
“I’m a grassroots man, and following what happened on Thursday in Awka during the TSG-organised rally, you can see that President Tinubu has no competitor,” he said.
He added that the group would tour local government areas across Anambra and the wider Southeast to explain why residents should support Tinubu for a second term.
“We are going to tour all the local government areas in Anambra and the entire Southeast to tell our people why President Tinubu should be re-elected in 2027. It’s not rocket science; the signs are all over the place in our zone,” Chukwuma said.
He described the Awka rally as a strategic move to build momentum for grassroots mobilisation, adding that the campaign would focus on issues rather than personal attacks.
Chukwuma said Tinubu had done a lot for the Southeast and urged residents to demonstrate their appreciation through their votes in 2027.
He also called on voters to support APC candidates across all levels of government, including the Senate, House of Representatives and State Houses of Assembly.
“Our people will vote APC from top to bottom. When you vote for Mr President, you also vote for our candidates for Senate, House of Representatives and House of Assembly,” he said. (The Nation)
