Super Sand Eagles assistant coach, Christopher Kadiri
Super Sand Eagles assistant coach, Christopher Kadiri, has expressed confidence that Nigeria will defeat Ghana’s Black Sharks in the return leg of the 2026 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Nigeria played out a 3-3 draw against Ghana in the first leg, leaving the qualification battle open ahead of the decisive encounter in Keta, Ghana.
Kadiri described the first-leg clash as a keenly contested encounter, insisting that the Nigerian team worked hard in preparation but could not secure the desired victory.
“It was a very nice match. Destiny played a role because we worked very hard for this match to see that we come out victorious,” he said.
Despite the disappointing result, the assistant coach expressed optimism that the Super Sand Eagles could overturn the tie and secure qualification for the continental tournament.
“When it goes the other way, I believe we can beat Ghana in Keta and qualify. We will work towards that,” Kadiri added.

He identified defensive concentration as a major area requiring improvement ahead of the return fixture, while commending the attackers for their performance in the first leg.
“Mostly, our concentration level in the defence. Our attackers did well, but we have to work seriously on the defence to see what we can do,” he stated.
Kadiri also acknowledged Ghana’s experience, describing the encounter as evenly balanced and praising the Black Sharks for their discipline and ability to avoid costly mistakes.
The Super Sand Eagles will now focus on tightening their defence and improving their overall performance as they seek victory in Keta to secure a place at the 2026 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations. (PUNCH)
