Omolola Ige has been appointed Key Accounts Lead at Warner Music West Africa, adding a new commercial role to a career spanning music marketing, artist campaigns and regional strategy.
At 29, Ige joins the Lagos operation of Warner Music Group after working on campaigns for artists including Tems, Gyakie, Mayorkun, Davido, Chris Brown, Skepta, Central Cee, Tyla and Beyoncé.
Her appointment follows a career that began in television production before taking her through media, management consulting and senior roles at some of Africa’s leading music companies.
Ige completed her first internship at Spice TV while studying for her undergraduate degree, working as a production assistant. The following year, she joined Megalectrics, the media company behind Beat FM, Naija FM and Classic FM.
After graduating from Al-Hikmah University with a BSc in Mass Communication, she moved into management consulting at H.C. Bonum Limited.
There, she managed five client accounts that contributed more than $630,000 in delivered revenue. She also taught and facilitated graduate trainee and professional development programmes for organisations including Access Bank, GTBank and the Sahara Group STEP programme.
In April 2021, Ige joined Chocolate City Music as an intern. Within a year, she was promoted to Strategy, Creative and Digital Marketing Manager.
In that role, she oversaw campaigns with budgets exceeding $500,000 and led digital growth efforts for Young Jonn and Blaqbonez, helping them surpass 100,000 YouTube subscribers within six months.
By April 2023, she had become Head of Marketing, overseeing creative, digital, social media, community management and public relations. She reported directly to the company’s senior leadership.
During this period, Ige also completed a master’s degree in Mass Communication at the University of Lagos, graduating with a 4.00 GPA while managing her responsibilities at the record label.
She joined Sony Music Entertainment West Africa as Regional Marketing Manager in July 2023. Eighteen months later, she was promoted to Head of Marketing for the region.
Her work at Sony included campaigns for artists such as Tems, Gyakie, Skepta, Central Cee, Morravey, Mayorkun, DJ Maphorisa, Qing Madi, The Cavemen, Davido, Chris Brown, Tyla and Beyoncé.
One of her recognised projects was the campaign for Tems’ album Born in the Wild. Her portfolio covered local, regional and international releases, giving her experience working with artists at different stages of their careers.
The role also involved managing campaign budgets, timelines, approvals, agency relationships, reporting and coordination among stakeholders.
In July 2026, Ige moved to Warner Music West Africa as Key Accounts Lead, taking on responsibilities that extend beyond marketing into commercial strategy and industry partnerships.
She leads key account management across Warner Music West Africa and Africori, Warner Music Group’s African distribution platform. Her responsibilities include managing relationships with digital service providers, media partners and industry stakeholders in Nigeria and Ghana.
Her work includes commercial and editorial relationships with Spotify, Apple Music, Audiomack, Boomplay and YouTube, as well as opportunities involving priority artists, new releases and independent music businesses.
The role places her across music distribution, commercial strategy, artist development, marketing, market intelligence and partnerships.
Her appointment marks another step in a career that has taken her from television production and consulting to senior regional roles in the music industry, with a growing focus on the commercial relationships that support African artists and their music. (Arise News)
