Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, Kogi State, has withdrawn 56 students for poor academic performance, failure to register for two consecutive semesters and other academic deficiencies during the 2025/2026 academic session.
The university also expelled one student for what it described as gross examination misconduct, while 44 students graduated with First-Class Honours.
This was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by the Director of Public Affairs, Uredo Omale.
According to the statement, the decisions were taken at the 168th Regular Meeting of the Senate held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, following consideration and approval of the 2025/2026 second-semester examination results across faculties and departments.
Of the 44 First-Class graduates, eight were from the Department of Forestry, six from Physiology and one from Microbiology.
“The Senate, in approving the results, also considered the report of the Results Verification Committee on the academic standing of students across the University.
“Accordingly, 56 students were withdrawn for various academic deficiencies in accordance with the University’s Academic Regulations.
“Out of the 56 withdrawn students, 11 were withdrawn on account of poor academic performance,” the statement said. (Daily Trust)
