EFCC Chairman Olukoyede
Ola Olukoyede, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has disclosed that the anti-graft agency can only recover roughly 60 per cent of stolen funds after they have been taken.
Olukoyede made this revelation on Friday, while speaking at the inauguration of the EFCC Zonal Office in Awka, Anambra State.
According to him, preventing corruption and fraud is the best approach to fighting corruption in Nigeria.
The EFCC Chairman also called on citizens not to hesitate to report suspected cases of corruption to the Commission.
“I have discovered that when money has been stolen, the best you can recover is 60 per cent,” he said.
He added that the EFCC is in Anambra State to boost the state’s economy. (New Telegraph)
