Reality TV star Phyna has emerged victorious in a dramatic celebrity boxing showdown against actress Nkechi Blessing, knocking her out in the fourth round in the early hours of today, Friday, October 2, 2026.

The bout was the climax of a tense build-up that had generated significant buzz among fans and across social media.

The rivalry between the two entertainers had moved beyond verbal exchanges and into the boxing ring, with their confrontation becoming one of the major talking points ahead of the event.

Tensions escalated during the build-up to the fight, with Phyna and Nkechi Blessing reportedly exchanging heated words during promotional activities. Their confrontation at a press event became physical, forcing organisers to intervene and separate the two celebrities.

The wider “Chaos in the Ring” event also produced its share of drama before the main attraction. A confrontation involving Carter Efe and Speed Darlington reportedly saw a birthday cake kicked to the ground, while firecrackers associated with Carter Efe’s entourage briefly caused a fire at the venue before it was extinguished.

With anticipation reaching a fever pitch, Phyna and Nkechi Blessing eventually settled their differences inside the ring.

From the opening bell, Phyna, the smaller and slimmer of the two fighters, sought to exploit her mobility. She moved quickly around the ring, landing sharp punches and using her speed to frustrate Blessing.

Blessing responded forcefully in the second round, stepping forward aggressively and engaging Phyna in a frenetic exchange. Both fighters unleashed a barrage of punches as the contest became increasingly physical.

The third round was more measured, with both celebrities remaining conscious and neither able to produce a decisive breakthrough. They exchanged punches but failed to establish clear dominance.

The decisive moment arrived in the fourth round.

As the fight approached its conclusion, Phyna and Blessing became involved in another furious exchange, throwing punches in rapid succession.

Phyna eventually found the opening she needed.

Blessing was hit and went down flat on the canvas. She was unable to beat the referee’s count, bringing the contest to an end and handing Phyna a knockout victory.

The victory sparked celebrations as Phyna was presented with the championship belt.

Her triumph was further sweetened when one of the promoters gifted her a brand-new car as a reward for her performance.

Speaking during her post-fight interview, Phyna explained that the knockout had been part of her strategy from the outset.

She said her plan was to “gas out” Blessing first before going for the knockout, and she was pleased that the strategy ultimately worked.

But Phyna was not content to simply celebrate her victory.

Immediately after the fight, she called out actress Etinosa for another celebrity boxing challenge.

Etinosa subsequently entered the ring and accepted the challenge, setting the stage for a potential showdown between the two entertainers.

The proposed contest was quickly framed as a battle between two Edo girls, adding another layer of excitement to the growing celebrity boxing scene. (PM News)
