The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has unveiled its Delta Central Senatorial District Secretariat in Ughelli, Delta State.

The Deputy State Chairman of the party, Comr. Lucky O.O Ukueku, unveiled the secretariat yesterday in a video address to supporters and party faithful.

Comr. Ukueku, who once served as Acting State Chairman of the party, called on all Deltans to support SDP candidates in the 2027 general elections, describing SDP as the only genuine party that has consistently fought for democracy in Nigeria.

He said: "As we all know, democracy is the government of the people, by the people and for the people. SDP will bring the true dividends of democracy to Nigeria and to Delta State."

He urged Deltans to vote for SDP in the forthcoming elections to experience real democracy and people-oriented governance.

According to him, while the party's State Headquarters is located in Asaba, the Delta State capital, the leadership thought it wise to establish secretariats across the three senatorial districts to provide a convenient meeting point for party faithful and to coordinate other party activities.

Comr. Ukueku further described SDP as a party founded on integrity and honesty, standing for truth, fairness and equality – the ideals which the founding fathers of the party, such as the late Chief M.K.O. Abiola, stood and died for.

"The party shall follow in their footsteps," he assured.

He also charged party members to intensify grassroots mobilization and register more members, stressing that politics remains a game of numbers.
