A chieftain of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Delta State, Comr. Lucky O.O. Ukueku, has congratulated all candidates of the party in the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement personally signed and made available to newsmen in Asaba yesterday, Comr. Ukueku, who is a former Acting State Chairman of SDP Delta and the recent past Chairman of the Screening Committee for all SDP aspirants in the last party primary election, described the emergence of the candidates as a major boost for the party in the state.

“Today, I am delighted to congratulate all Delta State SDP candidates for 2027. It is an honor to have been part of the process that produced credible flag bearers for our great party,” he stated.

Comr. Ukueku described the SDP as the oldest political party in Nigeria, and a party that does not associate with corrupt politicians or give its platform to persons of questionable character.

“The SDP has created room for people like us to lead at the state level. This shows that among all political parties in Nigeria, the SDP is the only party that truly upholds the ‘Not Too Young To Rule’ principle,” he said.

He further disclosed that he currently serves as the Deputy Chairman of the party at the state level, and expressed confidence that “the SDP is coming up stronger in Delta State.”

“Today, we have candidates across Federal and State Constituencies. In areas where candidates are yet to be reflected, INEC will soon upload our candidates’ names for the State Constituencies following the recent substitution primaries conducted by our party in Asaba,” Comr. Ukueku explained.

The SDP Chieftain described all Delta SDP candidates as grassroots politicians and mobilizers. He urged Deltans to give them maximum support to ensure victory in 2027.

“The SDP does not give its ticket to corrupt politicians. Every SDP candidate must be someone who has the interest of the people at heart. We are giving our platform to God-fearing leaders who are committed to service,” he added.

On the issue of Ughelli South LGA, Constituency 11, where the party is yet to produce a candidate, Comr. Ukueku assured that the matter is being addressed.

He noted that, the issue is being reviewed and will be addressed in line with the party constitution and INEC guidelines. I urge our party faithful not to panic or lose confidence. 2027 is our time to take our rightful places and win both Federal and State Constituency seats,” he said.

Comr. Ukueku once again congratulated all SDP candidates and wished them victory ahead of 2027.
