National Assembly members during session
The National Assembly has postponed the resumption of plenary by both chambers from Tuesday, September 15, to Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
This was announced in a public notice signed by the Clerk to the National Assembly, Kamoru Ogunlana, on Thursday.
According to the notice, the adjustment was necessitated by the ongoing rehabilitation work in the two chambers of the National Assembly.
“This is to inform Distinguished Senators and Honourable Members of the House of Representatives that the resumption of plenary session of the National Assembly earlier scheduled for Tuesday, 15th September, 2026, has been rescheduled to Tuesday, 29th September, 2026.
“The postponement is to allow the completion of the ongoing rehabilitation work in the two Chambers,” the notice read.
He advised senators and members of the House of Representatives to take note of the new date and adjust their engagements accordingly.
The development means both chambers will now reconvene after an additional two weeks, with lawmakers expected to return to plenary on September 29. (The Sun)
