FCT Minister, Wike
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has ordered the immediate closure of the secretariat of the dissolved Ad-hoc Committee on Sales of Federal Government Houses in the FCT.
The FCT Administration announced the directive in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka.
According to the statement, Wike has also approved the establishment of a new division within the Department of Land Administration to handle all matters relating to the sale of Federal Government Houses in the FCT.
The new division will assume the responsibilities previously handled by the dissolved Ad-hoc Committee on Sales of Federal Government Houses.
The FCT Administration explained that the secretariat had remained operational after the committee completed its assignment in order to address issues arising from its activities.
With the secretariat now formally closed, members of the public have been directed to approach the Department of Land Administration for matters concerning the sale of Federal Government Houses in the FCT.
The administration also issued a warning against fraudsters who may attempt to exploit the dissolution of the committee and closure of its secretariat.
“Members of the public are also urged to be mindful of the antics and activities of fraudsters who parade themselves as staff, officers and members of the defunct Ad-Hoc Committee/Secretariat on SFGH as the committee and secretariat no longer exist,” the statement said. (Channels TV)
