Chimsom Chuka has become the first Head of House in Big Brother Naija Season 11 after winning the opening challenge, while Tram secured the Head of House lounge through a lucky dip, chose Sheba to share it, and Abi emerged Deputy Head of House.
The challenge was held on Monday, the first full day of the competition, with the male and female housemates competing separately before the best overall performers were compared. Chimsom recorded the fastest overall time to claim the Head of House title. Under the new format, however, the winner does not automatically move into the Head of House lounge despite receiving immunity from eviction.
Instead, Big Brother introduced a Lucky Dip Box, requiring the Head of House to randomly select a housemate who would stay in the exclusive Head of House lounge for the week.
Chimsom picked Tram through the lucky dip, giving him access to the lounge. Tram was then given the opportunity to choose another housemate to share the space and selected Sheba.
While Tram and Sheba will enjoy the Head of House lounge for the week, Chimsom’s reward for winning the challenge remains immunity from this week’s eviction, alongside the leadership privileges attached to the position.
Abi, a chef and model from Osun State, finished second overall in the challenge and was named Deputy Head of House.
Before entering the house, Chimsom, a 27-year-old pharmacist and actor from Anambra State, said authenticity would be his biggest strength in the competition.
“The biggest strength I have is being myself,” he said in his pre-show introduction, adding that he hoped viewers would connect with his genuine personality rather than a manufactured game plan.
The new arrangement marks one of the major twists introduced in the “Show Ya Sef” edition of Big Brother Naija, separating immunity from residence in the Head of House lounge.
As of the time of filing this report, the housemates were still participating in the nomination process ahead of the next stage of the competition. (Arise News)
