The Police Service Commission (PSC) has released the names of successful applicants recruited into the Nigeria Police Force as Police Constables, marking the conclusion of the recruitment exercise for 50,000 personnel approved to strengthen the country's security architecture.
The announcement was contained in a statement signed by the Commission's Head of Protocol and Public Relations, Torty Njoku Kalu, who said the recruitment followed "the successful conclusion of a comprehensive, inclusive, equitable and transparent recruitment exercise" conducted with the Nigeria Police Force and other stakeholders. The Commission advised candidates who sat for the written examination to **"login to the official recruitment portal: npfapplication.psc.gov.ng to check their recruitment status,"** adding that the portal **"will be opened by 12:00am, Thursday, 16th July, 2026." It also stated that successful applicants "will also receive email and SMS notifications on the email! addresses and phone numbers they provided during the initial application."
According to the Commission, successful candidates are expected to report to their designated Police Training Institutions on dates and times to be communicated later for medical examination and documentation.
It warned that candidates who fail to report within the stipulated period would be regarded as having declined the offer, while those who fail the mandatory medical examination conducted by the Police Medical Team would be declared unfit and withdrawn from the training programme.
The PSC directed successful applicants to report with their training call-up slip, National Identification Number (NIN) slip, Bank Verification Number (BVN) slip, original and photocopies of their certificates, alongside other required documents and items listed on the recruitment portal.
Chairman of the Commission, retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police Hashimu Salihu Argungu, thanked President Bola Tinubu for approving the recruitment of the 50,000 police constables.
According to the statement, Argungu expressed appreciation to the President "for graciously approving the recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables as part of measures to strengthen the nation's security architecture."**
He also urged the successful candidates to regard their appointment as a national responsibility.
Argungu charged them **"to see this opportunity as a clarion call to serve the nation with dignity, integrity and unwavering commitment to a safe and secured Nigeria."
