Nigerian singer, Abiola Akinbiyi, popularly known as Bella Shmurda, has alleged that he lost $4 million after unknowingly purchasing a property in Lagos that he later discovered was not owned by the person who sold it to him.
The music star made the claim during an emotional Instagram Live session on Tuesday, where he appealed for assistance and broke down in tears over the alleged incident.
According to him, he only recently realised he had fallen victim to the alleged scam and was worried about losing the money he had spent on the property.
“Nigeria, I need your help. I’m not doing okay right now. I spent $4 million of my own hard-earned money, only to find out I bought stolen property,” he said.
Bella Shmurda further alleged that the person who sold him the property could no longer be reached after receiving the payment.
“And now the seller has disappeared. Please, help me. Someone step in. I’ve got nothing left,” he said.
“I worked for years for this. I can’t lose $4 million like that.”
He also revealed that he had instructed his lawyer to look into the matter.
“I just contacted my lawyer for further investigation,” he said.
The singer did not reveal the identity of the alleged seller or provide additional information about the property during the livestream. (Nigerian Tribune)
