The Zamfara State Government has commenced the recruitment of 3,050 teachers for public primary and junior secondary schools across the state to address shortages in the education sector.
A statement issued by the Committee for the Recruitment of 3,050 Basic School Teachers, signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Maryam Yahaya Shantali, said the online application portal had been opened to qualified indigenous applicants.
According to the committee, the recruitment is intended to strengthen basic education by deploying qualified teachers, particularly to rural and underserved communities.
It said the application portal opened on July 2 and would close on July 16, warning that late applications would not be considered.
Applicants, it said, must be indigenes of Zamfara State, aged between 18 and 35 years, and possess the minimum approved teaching qualification.
The committee added that only candidates who successfully pass the automated online screening would be shortlisted for the Computer-Based Test (CBT).
It warned that multiple applications, submission of false information or forged documents, incomplete documentation, failure to meet the required qualifications or refusal to accept posting to rural communities would lead to automatic disqualification.
The committee said the recruitment reflects Governor Dauda Lawal’s commitment to improving the quality of basic education through the engagement of qualified teachers. (Daily Trust)
