National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has disclosed that over 6.97 million electricity customers were metered by the end of the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2025.
According to data posted at the NBS Website, “the number of metered customers reached 6.97 million in Q4 2025, representing a 4.58% increase from 6.66 million recorded in the preceding quarter. On a year-on-year basis, metered customers increased by 12.18%, from 6.21 million recorded in Q4 2024.
The data noted that the “total customer numbers in Q4 2025 stood at 12.16 million, up from 12.03 million in Q3 2025, representing a 1.11% quarter-on-quarter increase. On a year-on-year basis, the number of customers
Declined by 8.52%, from 13.30 million recorded in Q4 2024.
“Total customer numbers in Q3 2025 stood at 12.03 million, up from 11.66 million in Q2 2025, representing a 3.21% quarter-on-quarter increase.
“On a year-on-year basis, the number of customers declined by 2.98%, from 12.40 million recorded in Q3 2024,” the data revealed.
Furthermore, NBS data showed that the number of metered customers reached 6.66 million in Q3 2025, representing a 4.93% increase from 6.35 million recorded in the preceding quarter.
“On a year-on-year basis, metered customers increased by 7.78%, from 6.18 million recorded in Q3 2024. In addition, the number of estimated customers stood at 5.37 million in Q3 2025, representing a 1.15% increase from 5.31 million in Q2 2025.
“However, on a year-on-year basis, estimated customers declined by 13.68%, from 6.22 million recorded in Q3 2024”.
The data stated that “revenue collected by the DISCOs amounted to ₦570.26 billion in Q3 2025, up from ₦563.98 billion in Q2 2025. On a year-on-year basis, revenue collection increased by 14.43%, from ₦498.35 billion recorded in Q3 2024.
“Electricity supplied during Q3 2025 was 6,158.52 GWh, down from 6,449.82 GWh in the preceding quarter. On a year-on-year basis, electricity supply declined by 1.45%, compared with 6,249.21 GWh recorded in Q3 2024,” the data revealed. (Nigerian Tribune)
