EBS MD, Aledeh
Managing Director of the Edo State Broadcasting Service, Sulaiman Aledeh, has resigned hours after he was redeployed to the Edo State Orientation Agency.
A statement by the Secretary to the Edo State Government, Musa Ikhilor, said Aledeh would serve as pioneer Director General of the Orientation Agency with immediate effect.
The statement named Edo’Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Mr Festus Alenkhe, as the Acting Managing Director of EBS.
It said Alenkhe would oversee operations of the station pending the deployment of a substantive Managing Director.According to the statement, “The governor’s decision forms part of ongoing administrative adjustments designed to optimise resource management and strengthen institutional capacity across critical sectors of the state’s administration.
“The redeployment reflects the government’s recognition of Mr Aledeh’s professional expertise and capacity to advance the mandate of the Orientation Agency—an institution critical to civic engagement, values promotion, and public communication strategy across Edo State.
“During his tenure at EBS, Mr Aledeh demonstrated considerable dedication to public service broadcasting and institutional development. The state government commends him for his outstanding contributions to the broadcasting sector and wishes him continued success in his new assignment.”
Aledeh, in his resignation letter, said the decision was to enable him devote his attention to the next phase of his professional journey as a media practitioner and to pursue other endeavours as a private citizen. (The Nation)
