By BONIFACE AKARAH
The Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) has condoled with its founding President and Enugu State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Dr. Malachy Agbo, over the death of his mother, Mrs. Laurita Nwakaego Agbo (née Ortuanya).
Mrs. Agbo reportedly passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026, at the Niger Foundation Hospital, Enugu.
In a condolence letter jointly signed by GOCOP President, Danlami Nmodu, mni, and General Secretary, Sufuyan Ojeifo, the organisation described the late matriarch as a woman whose life was marked by humility, compassion, generosity, and service to humanity.
“On behalf of the entire GOCOP family, we extend our heartfelt condolences to you and your family during this moment of deep grief,” the letter stated.
The Guild said it joined Dr. Agbo, his family, the people of Ohodo community, and the wider family in mourning the passing of a woman whose life positively impacted many people through her devotion to faith and community service.
According to GOCOP, the late Mrs. Agbo was a devoted Catholic, a nurturing mother, and a pillar of strength whose philanthropic disposition and commitment to community welfare touched many lives.
“The tributes pouring in from family members, friends, associates, and community leaders reflect the enduring legacy of a woman remembered for her faith, peaceful nature, wisdom, and selfless devotion to others,” the Guild noted.
In another part of the letter, GOCOP urged the family to draw strength from the enduring values and impactful life of the deceased.
“While her passing leaves a painful void, we pray that the memories of her impactful life and enduring values will bring comfort and strength to you and your family in this difficult period,” the Guild added.
The Guild also prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul and asked God to grant Dr. Agbo, the Agbo family, and all those mourning her passing the fortitude to bear the loss.
GOCOP further assured the family of its prayers and solidarity as preparations begin for her funeral and burial arrangements.
