Former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has sparked reactions online after a video emerged showing him stepping in to settle a fight between two drivers at an airport.
The video captured Obi intervening during a heated argument between the two drivers.
Following his intervention, the tension between the drivers was eased, preventing a possible traffic disruption at the scene.
Hours after the video surfaced online on Thursday, Obi shared details of his activities for the day on his X account, where he disclosed that he visited the University of the Niger, Umunya, in Anambra State, as part of his continued support for education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation.
It was observed that Obi wore the same outfit seen in the viral airport video during the university visit, further linking the timeline of the incident and his later engagement at the institution.
During the visit, Obi encouraged students of the institution to remain committed to their studies, stressing the importance of knowledge in national development and the role of young people in shaping Nigeria’s future.
He also announced a donation of N25 million to support scholarships and educational development at the institution.
Obi further commended the Diocese of Niger for its commitment to educational growth and praised the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chinedu Nebo, for his contributions to the advancement of education through support for schools and institutions.
The former presidential candidate reiterated his commitment to education and human capital development, maintaining that no nation can rise above the strength of its educational system.
He wrote partly, “In support of scholarships and educational development, I made a donation of 25 million naira for the development of the institution.
“I sincerely commend the Diocese on the Niger, for their foresight, vision, and steadfast commitment to educational and institutional growth. I also wish to express my appreciation to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chinedu Nebo, for his evident dedication to education. His commitment is reflected in the many schools and institutions he continues to support in their growth and strengthening.
“I remain fully committed to the growth of education and the development of students in our country because no nation can rise beyond the strength of its education and human capital.” (Nigerian Tribune)
