The Management of the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, Kogi, has expelled eight students for alleged examination malpractice.
This is contained in a letter signed by the Deputy Registrar (Academics), Mr Eli Gbadufu, on Wednesday in Lokoja.
He said that the decision was ratified by the University Senate at its 30th Regular Meeting held on April 29.
Gbadufu stated that the expulsion followed investigations by the Examination Misconduct Committee into violations recorded during the first semester examinations of the 2025/2026 academic session.
According to him, the affected students were found guilty after due process and in line with the university’s academic policies as outlined in the Student Handbook, Page 33, Item 19.
He said that the institution reaffirmed its zero-tolerance stance on academic dishonesty.
He said that the eight expelled students cut across various departments and levels of study.
He said the CUSTECH Management reiterated that the institution remained committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity.
The deputy registrar urged all students to conduct themselves in accordance with the university’s rules and avoid acts that undermine the credibility of its academic process.
The move signals CUSTECH’s determination to preserve the value of its degrees and maintain discipline across all faculties as it continues to grow as Kogi State’s premier Science and Technology University. (NAN)
